Creating Family and Community Safety

Volunteer.

Every volunteer at One Safe Place helps create a safer, more hopeful community. Whether you’re organizing donation drives, helping at events, supporting children’s programs, or offering professional skills, your service makes a lasting impact.

Volunteers remind survivors that they are seen, valued, and not alone—and that healing is possible because others care.

I Can Help Academy

Completion of the I Can Help Academy is required for all One Safe Place volunteers. Hosted by One Safe Place, the ICH Academy is offered four times per year. Attendees participate in on-site, interactive classes including:

  • Domestic Violence – Knowing the Basics
  • Human Trafficking – What You Need to Know
  • Understanding the Criminal Justice Response to Domestic Violence

The ICH Academy is a one-day training consisting of multiple courses designed for an adult audience-including advocates, allied professionals, students, and volunteers-who want to help One Safe Place provide education and support to survivors of domestic violence. CEUs are provided.
