Support for every step of your journey. At One Safe Place, you’ll find a team of advocates, counselors, and community partners ready to help you rebuild your safety, stability, and strength.
Abuse doesn’t always start with violence and doesn’t always leave bruises.
Do you feel afraid to disagree, say no, or make decisions without permission?
Has anyone isolated you from family, friends, or money?
Does someone monitor your phone, texts, or social media?
Have threats, guilt, or intimidation become part of daily life?
Do you feel like you’re walking on eggshells to avoid conflict?
A ‘yes’ to even one of these questions is worth paying attention to. You don’t have to decide what to call what’s happening — but if something here felt familiar, trust that feeling.
If something feels off or you are unsure, you can call or visit us.
You do not have to be certain or ready to label your situation. We will meet you where you are, listen without judgment, explore what you are experiencing, and work together to find the best path forward.
Abuse, even once, is never okay.
There is no such thing as acceptable abuse and no threshold for seeking help.
Begin building a safer path for you and your family by speaking with a professional advocate who can listen, understand your circumstances, and help you explore your options.
Together, we’ll assess your level of danger using proven tools to understand what you’re facing and how to keep you safest right now.
Your advocate will help you build a personalized safety plan -covering what to do if you need to leave quickly, how to protect yourself and your children, and what support systems you can rely on.
Finally, we’ll connect you with on-site services and partner agencies that can help with everything from counseling and legal support to children’s programming and financial empowerment resources.
Hope is not just possible. It is real.
Do not take our word for it. Trust the thousands of individuals in Tarrant County who once stood where you are and are now living free from abuse, violence, and fear. Your next chapter can be one of safety, healing, and HOPE.
After your first visit, our team will connect you with other services and help you as long as you need our support.Â
A dedicated advocate will help coordinate everything from counseling and legal appointments to court accompaniment and partner-agency referrals.
Healing is a process—and every journey begins with a single step. Journey to HOPE offers free, confidential counseling and classes to help survivors of abuse rebuild emotional safety and self-worth. Participants explore topics like healthy boundaries, trauma recovery, self-care, and resilience through a supportive, judgment-free environment. Whether you’re taking your first step toward healing or continuing your path to transformation, you don’t have to do it alone.

Legal challenges can feel overwhelming, especially when they impact your safety or family. At One Safe Place, civil legal support is part of a coordinated approach to help you move forward.
Through our on-site partners, you can access help with protective orders, custody, and other legal concerns.
On-site partners from local law enforcement and the District Attorney’s Office can assist with protective orders, victim impact statements, and safety enforcement. Our collaboration ensures survivors receive swift, trauma-informed support without retelling painful details multiple times.
Licensed therapists provide trauma-informed counseling and therapy designed to restore confidence and emotional well-being. Services include individual, group, and family counseling sessions.
Strangulation is among the most lethal — and most invisible — forms of abuse. We refer survivors to specialized clinicians who assess and document injuries, ensuring they receive the medical care, advocacy, and legal protection they need.
Economic empowerment is a critical step toward long-term safety and independence. Through The Ladder at One Safe Place, individuals can build the skills, confidence, and connections needed to re-enter the workforce and move forward with stability.
From digital literacy and job readiness to career pathways and ongoing support, The Ladder helps turn progress into lasting opportunity.
While One Safe Place is not a shelter, we work closely with partner organizations to arrange safe housing for individuals and families in immediate danger. Advocates handle coordination discreetly and compassionately.
Help doesn’t follow a single path — and neither do we. If you don’t see what you’re looking for above, our advocates are here to listen, assess your needs, and connect you with the right support. Whatever you’re facing, you don’t have to figure it out alone.
At One Safe Place, more than 25 partner agencies work together under one roof to support every step of the journey to safety, healing, and independence.
