This training highlights the serious risks of strangulation in domestic violence, including its strong link to future homicide and its role as a form of power and control. Participants will learn to recognize the medical, psychological, and legal implications, strengthening their ability to respond, improve safety, and support justice for victims.
A presentation on trauma-informed care principles, recognizing behavioral and emotional warning signs for suicide in domestic violence survivors, screening for suicide using the Columbia Suicide Severity Rating Scale, safety planning for suicidal clients, referral resources, recognizing signs of vicarious/secondary trauma in providers caring for survivors.Â
A training geared toward child care providers/caregivers for a brief overview of domestic violence impacts on children and trauma-informed practices for caring for children during drop-in childcare.
A presentation where youth (ages 7 – 17) will learn about relationship types, characteristics of healthy and unhealthy relationships, with a jeopardy quiz to display what they’ve learned about healthy relationships.
