Trainings Offered

Domestic Violence 101
This training provides essential knowledge on domestic violence, including recognizing warning signs, understanding risk factors, and responding effectively. Participants will gain insight into the dynamics of abuse and learn practical approaches to support victims and hold perpetrators accountable.
Hidden Homicides: Recognizing Mislabeled Deaths and Perpetrator Patterns
This training equips participants to recognize the warning signs of escalating domestic violence, including the eight stages leading to homicide and indicators of staged suicides or suspicious deaths. It empowers advocates, professionals, and community members to assess risk, intervene effectively, and support victims and families through awareness, advocacy, and informed response.
The Hidden Dangers of Strangulation

This training highlights the serious risks of strangulation in domestic violence, including its strong link to future homicide and its role as a form of power and control. Participants will learn to recognize the medical, psychological, and legal implications, strengthening their ability to respond, improve safety, and support justice for victims.

Responding to Self-Harm and Suicide Risk in Domestic Violence Survivors

A presentation on trauma-informed care principles, recognizing behavioral and emotional warning signs for suicide in domestic violence survivors, screening for suicide using the Columbia Suicide Severity Rating Scale, safety planning for suicidal clients, referral resources, recognizing signs of vicarious/secondary trauma in providers caring for survivors. 

Trauma-Informed Best Practices in Child Caregiving

A training geared toward child care providers/caregivers for a brief overview of domestic violence impacts on children and trauma-informed practices for caring for children during drop-in childcare.

Healthy Youth Relationships

A presentation where youth (ages 7 – 17) will learn about relationship types, characteristics of healthy and unhealthy relationships, with a jeopardy quiz to display what they’ve learned about healthy relationships.

Safe at Work: Domestic Violence and the Workplace

Domestic violence doesn’t stay at home — it follows employees to work, affecting safety, productivity, and morale. One Safe Place offers hands-on and virtual training for businesses of any size, from small teams to large corporations, giving employers and HR professionals the knowledge and confidence to respond when it matters most. Participating organizations receive our Safe at Work employer toolkit and join a network of partners committed to making sure every employee has access to safe, private, and proven help when they need it most.
