Journey to HOPE

Journey to HOPE follows a four-step pathway that helps survivors build safety, understanding, and confidence before moving into individual counseling. Each step is guided by trauma-informed therapists and designed to meet you exactly where you are.

This was the best experience considering all the trauma I’ve endured. I feel ten times more hopeful.

"First Step"

This is the first step on your Journey to HOPE and the gateway into counseling services at One Safe Place.

You’ll learn what healing can look like, what support is available, and how a group setting can foster strength, stability, and encouragement. This foundational step is designed to help you feel safer, more grounded, and better prepared for the next stage of your journey.

After completing this step, you may participate in any of the pathways below in the order that best meets your needs. Each pathway can be revisited as often as you find it helpful, allowing your journey to reflect your unique experiences, goals, and pace of healing.

Path to Awareness

Participants explore topics such as attachment, healthy boundaries, and how trauma impacts relationships. Survivors begin identifying their needs, recognizing harmful patterns, and building resilience.

Path to Understanding

This phase covers the cycle of violence, strangulation dynamics, and the complex factors that contribute to abuse. Survivors gain clarity about what happened and why – reducing shame, confusion, and self-blame.

Path to Transformation

Participants focus on self-regulation, understanding their needs, and developing healthier responses to stress. Survivors learn how to transform trauma responses into empowered actions, strengthening endurance, balance, and hope.

1,100 adults

received support through Journey to Hope in 2024, reflecting a growing community of healing and hope.
