Where Healing and Hope Take Root.
Grounded in hope science and the healing power of nature, Camp HOPE Texas gives children and teens exposed to violence a chance to rediscover joy, build confidence, and believe in a future free from fear.
All participation is free, safe, and supported by trained mentors and counselors.
What is Camp HOPE?
Camp HOPE Texas is a week-long summer program—and a year-round community—that helps youth heal from trauma through connection, adventure, and belonging.
Guided by trauma-informed mentors, campers learn teamwork, problem-solving, and self-discovery in a fun, supportive environment.
At camp, kids experience the simple things many have missed: laughter, trust, and the freedom to just be children again.
The Power of HOPE
Hope is more than a feeling—it’s a skill that can be taught and strengthened. Using evidence-based curriculum, Camp HOPE Texas helps participants set goals, identify strengths, and imagine new possibilities.
Activities include:
- Outdoor adventure and team challenges
- Reflection circles and group discussions
- Creative expression and journaling
- Campfire talks, mentorship, and friendship-building
Sessions are held in private, comfortable spaces designed to promote calm and safety.

Ongoing Support
Healing doesn’t end when camp ends. Throughout the year, campers stay connected through Pathways to HOPE activities—monthly enrichment events that reinforce healthy relationships, self-esteem, and community service.
In 2024, 89 children and youth participated in Camp HOPE Texas, and nearly all reported greater confidence, hopefulness, and connection after camp.
Pathways to College
A safe future starts with opportunity. Pathways to College awards last-dollar scholarships to qualifying youth who have stayed engaged with select One Safe Place programs, covering two full years at Tarrant County College. By removing financial barriers to higher education, we help set our participants on a path toward a lifetime of success.
